So Lost Stars spoilers belowSo hear me out. I know that Rootpaw and Bristlefrost are probably endgame, but I like him and Shadowpaw together. I feel like the relate more and have more possible chemistry. Bristlefrost can have some random background character if she wants or get with Stemleaf's love interest. Either way, I love these boys.
Rootpaw better get the warrior name of Rootbeer though. Or I will be sad.

I loved the scene where Rootpaw and Shadowpaw meet by the lake and talk. They'd be so cute together, and I hope (maybe in a million years) that the erins take into consideration their ability to diversify the sexuality in Warriors.

Oh I loved that so much too. And I think the Erins want to include LGBT characters explicitly but Warriors wouldn't be able to be published in some countries so that can't. It's really unfortunate.

I spent the entire school day fantasizing about different AUs for them-

I had one idea that’s kinda weird but o well. It’s one where when/if Brindlefrost has kits, she gives one to Rootpaw for him and Shadowpaw to take care of (Shadowclan and Thunderclan are natural rivals, so she would trust SkyClan more). Of course, this would be a very strange parenting circumstance but hey, don’t blame me, blame my brain.
(also needlepaw finds out and let’s just say she ain’t happy-)

Sometimes there's just too many to talk about. And the Warriors universe is perfect for AUs too which is so nice. Do you tend to do a lot of shipping AUs or just kind of a bit of everything?

Mainly shipping AUs and evil AUs, they’re the most enjoyable to think about, for me at least.
It’s also fun to think of AUs that could actually fit into the plot well, so much so that they could actually be canon and we just don’t know. Unfortunately, I haven’t thought of one that sneaky yet-

Oh yeah, I really enjoy those ones too, but sometimes I just like to have AUs for different characterizations of characters.
I really like trying to fit those in too with all my headcanons. Usually, it's a lot easier when they are background characters because there isn't a lot established about them.

Background characters are great to think of AUs/backstories for, they may not have too much to go off of, but that means there aren’t many obstacles blocking your way. (Ex. If you wanted Hollyleaf, a main character, to become a villain, you wouldn’t be able to, because she’s written about so much in the canon timeline that your headcanon just wouldn’t fit, because she’s painted as a hero. However, if you wanted a background character to be responsible for the sickness of several cats, due to poisoning prey, you might be able to headcanon that, as they wouldn’t have been written about enough to reveal anything else.)
