I've been drawing these horses ever since I saw a comic book cover depicting the rare card, nightmare back in 1997. I've recently really gotten into playing the game, and at this point, Nightmare is probably my favorite card. I've also been thinking about sending a portfolio into Wizards of the Coast. This is a practice run for one piece. I'm not particularly good with digital painting, so this is one attempt. It's a combination of vectors (the horse's body), and airbrush (highlights and everything else). I personally think the vector shapes are too noticeable, but I'm also too close to the project to really tell. I'd really like to hear what anyone has to say!
