Quick question though, and it probably sounds quite lame, but how exactly did you animate the wave?

I used some program called Microsoft GIF Animator. You just copy each frame from Photoshop or Paint or whatever into the program.
Google it, it's free to download (its a bit outdated, too, but it gets the job done.)
