Unfortunately only 2 Su-37s have been built so far. This picture looks like it would make a sweet desktop.

Thanks
And yeah, you'd think they'd make more, but instead they went ahead with the 47, which looks horrible I feel. And since the wings are like 'OMFGHUGE', I believe it's meant to have foldable wings and be carrier based.
Although they get points for using most of the 27/33/37 fuselage as the base for the 47.
TOO BAD I'LL NEVER EVER GET TO FLY ONE

I don't think the Su-47 is going into production either. The fact is that Russia is not building its own military much anymore, because it can make more $$$ selling to other nations.
For example, the latest designs such as Su-34, Su-35/33, and S-400 (an SAM with a range of 400km) have been built in only a couple dozens, though in some respects they are on par or superior to the US counterparts.
Heh, I'm probably boring you now. I like the Su-35 the best. The SU-37 is too yellow.

Well with Russia's recent aggression in Georgia, I think there's an improved chance that they may at least put the 47 into at least a kind of limited production (similar to the B-2 stealth bombers). While I don't really enjoy the general design of the 47, I'm sure it is superior to the 27 and it's variants.

Nope, we won't. The 47 is a tech demonstrator, not actual fighter. The ones will be put in production is differnt modifications of Su-35 and the PAK-FA (first flight sceduled at 2009).
Oh, and you spell it wrong it's "responce to aggression", not "aggression" per se.

The 47, in itself, is a variation of the 27/33/35/37 as the base frame of the plane is taken from them.
Point taken about the agrression bit.
Also, isn't the PAK-FA the new MiG Russia has been boasting about the past year or two?

Yes it is, but Sukhoi still have some problems with inverted geometry wings. They are still much more vulnerable in combat than classic ones. So the Su-35 in diffirent modifications is going to be set in production, it is also cheaper, because the old 27s can be upgraded to 35 with considerable cost (much like the F-14A\B upgrade t D).
About new MiG, do you mean 1.44 MFI, or the new MiG-35 that based on 29?

After I finished it and set it as my desktop wallpaper I was literally "Oh my god, did I just do this?"
Amazing what a few months away from photoshop can do.
