*gasp* Finally done with this project!Conceptual drawing for a version of Swan Lake I'm planning, this of course being the villain. Tried the Art Nouveau style again as an experiment, but after drawing this I've decided not to use it because I want a more raw and less decorative style, and this takes so long for me to draw. Seriously, I started this back in January!
Still, at least his design is pretty much finalized. Also, he's an alchemist, which is fun.
I chose the name "Kira" because it sounded nice, and as it turns out, means "dark" in Russian.

If you haven't read it already, you should read "Black Swan" by Mercedes Lackey - it takes on Swan Lake from Odile's perspective.

Well I'm still working on the story. This was just a test to see if an Art Nouveau look would work with what I had in mind. I had thought of doing all the main characters in this style but if i do it will take forever
No, I haven't read Black Swan, but I have read The Firebird by the same author. The Firebird will be making a guest appearance in my story.

I've never heard about russian usual name which meant "dark". It could be Mavr but it is very rare and not actually russian.
Btw, Kira is a girl's name and means "mistress" in ancient greek. Boy's name is Kir ("master").
But in "death note" Kira was a ja pan version of english word "killer". Quite good for a main villain)

Yeah, from the late 70s I believe. Also there was a proper Odile (who was awesome) and the prince was named Siegfried, and it had the original ballet as the soundtrack. The whole thing's on Youtube I believe.
