Like it, but I'd like it more with the head of the nail in the center of the photo. Just my preference. Good start, and welcome to DA!

I took photography this year in school, and this was the first picture I have ever taken with an SLR. I was going for the whole rule of thirds thing, but I think I may have messed up.

I think if the nail were vertical, and the whole background blurred, the placement would be great. In this case, with all the focus on the right side, and so much of that focus on the brick instead of just the nail, it's a little... lopsided. See what it looks like if you crop a little off the bottom and a chunk off the left side.

Oddly enough, the full pic looks better as a thumbnail than in full view.
