“I can’t feel your breath, but I know you are close to me. I can’t see you, but I know you are watching over me. I can’t hear you, but I know you are listening to me. I can’t touch you, but I feel your caresses. I can’t hug you, but I feel your warmth. I can’t see you smile, but I know you saw me cry. I can’t reach you, but you are always there. Today it’s not just another day. Today I’m 17. 17 years of life but also 17 years since you left. I can’t help it but to be sad and cry. Dad says I shouldn’t be sad, that I should smile more, that when I do it I look like you. Everyone who knew you say that. But it’s hard to be happy when I feel as if a part of me were missing. They say you were like an angel, but angels were not meant to live out of heaven and for that reason God called you back to have you by His side once more. I know I must accept that but it’s not fair. It’s not fair when I feel my soul is not complete. Dad said the doctors told you if I live you would die and you accepted it. He also told me that you called me “your little miracle” and that everything happens for a reason. You offered your life in exchange of mine.
So today I have decided to keep the sadness away. I can’t live with sorrow anymore because there are a lot of things worth smiling for. I will see the bright side of things because I know you will be by my side, guiding me, protecting me. Your sacrifice will not be in vain. I will see your face in every sunshine, I will smell your scent in every flower, I will hear your laughter in every sweet melody, I will feel your touch in every breeze. I will never feel alone again. I love you Mom, and I know you loved me because I have this mark that proves it. A symbol that represents your everlasting love. A birthmark in the shape of a heart.”

And after a long time there's finally another picture of Martina. Sorry for the long text but I finally decided to share something about her story, mostly because I wanted to prove that she is not just another pretty face in my gallery. I'm planning a great story for her with cool and lovely characters but I just need to find some time to get it done.

About the picture, I change a little the color of her hair to give her a warmer look. And talking about the hair, what a hair! Gosh, it took me too many hours to achieve this final look...
