A little Tribute Pic to the announcement of Owlboys Release Date. Since the Indie Games Awards showed videos of the game I was hyped. The announcement that a Demo will be realeased on PC gave me joy.~Dirk

I was on the plane when I heard about this, so I never got around to saying thank you! It took ages before I managed to get the design for Otus right, so I'm really happy when I see stuff like this. It's kind of strange to think that this might have been a drawing of a red dog with wings, or an insect with a mechanical jet pack had I decided differently. Though to be fair, his early concepts weren't usable.
This looks awesome, as per usual. It's really random that you would be the one to draw this of all people, since I got inspired to draw a different styled version of Otus in my gallery after browsing yours. Small world I guess. Either way, thank you for the support and I hope you enjoy the game!

I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm completely exhausted. We've been sitting here for a whole week trying to iron out all the bugs and nonsensities, but the general reception has been good so far. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Ah not yet, that's something we will decide on after we look over how much content gets in. We want to have material for the deadline and free add-ons that should have made it. Xbox is much more fickle about free DLC and pricing than Steam so we'll see what's best for everyone.

Stupid question, but out of curiousity, Why is DS/3DS ware download no option? The pixelstyle would fit for handhelds consoles.

We were asked about mobile devices back at IGF 2010, but we'd need to design something specifically for the DS.

the resolution would't work and we would need to rework the controls heavily. Normal DS is not powerful, also has recently become the living dead while the 3Ds is just a dead platform already.

The indie scene has a lot nice little games with innovation and heart lately. When they move on like that, we have a nice clash of over-budget games with no heart or fun and a mass of smart and heartfull little games.

Yeah, I notice that. Especially when the game designers are trying desperately to continue an ongoing series. For example the Sonic series I feel has lost a lot of its heart, and even Mario and Kirby have. I am hoping that the next Kirby game will be at least some what decent, but I have found indie games have teams who care more about the games.
