I totally agree. Villain or not, I don't really care Starlight anymore. :/
Sunset Shimmer is much way FAR better than her and Trixie even combined.

Butthurt much?
YOU'RE the one who don't respect people having different opinions about Starlight Glimmer and you also give the sane fans a bad name.
And falsely reporting them can also get you BANNED.
If you can't accept the fact about not everyone having opinions differ from yours, you need to get off the internet.

FiM was dead long before her reformation. She could've brought something new and better to the table, but the writers fucked it up and all we got was a one-dimensional 'I fucked up, how will I ever recover?' cardboard cutout who can't even hold an episode on her own so she has to be shoved next to everybody. I loved Starlight as a villain, but she is now the epitome of terrible characterization, not only in this show, in every show.

I really don't like Starlight Glimmer she is too much like a mix of Twlight and another character I don't like Trixie.
Ugh.
I did watch it the other episodes just to bear through it, was a pain to see her on the screen.Β

I'm neutral towards her. I don't think she killed season 6.Β
Season 7 is okay. I'm wondering when gen 5 will be, though.

I honestly like her she may not be the greatest character and there are a lot of things they could've done to make her better but she has one amazing attribute to her credit. she gave us more trixie ^^Β
as for bad episodes season 7's had some great ones like episode 7 parental guidance, ep 10 a royal problem (starlight and royal sisters episode), ep13 the perfect pear, and ep 14 fame and misfortune. again the last one has starlight but is a really funny episode dealing with the fandom. if nothing else i'd advise checking out number 7 and 13 they don't have starlight and are really good (like you'll need a box of tissue's good).Β

Agreed, I hate Starlight. She's literally a copy of S1 Twilight, but way, way worse. They're so alike it sucks. I feel like it makes Twilight a lot less special and it's sad.

I find nothing wrong with Starlight and seasons 6 and 7 are all good episodes! Although from what I've heard they're thinking of giving Starlight wings and I honestly find that to be ridiculous...

I don't have a problem with Starlight glimmer either I just feel like her Arc was a bit rushed. That does sound really weird Starlight being an alicorn? What would she be the princess of? Cuz I mean Twilight is the princess of friendship and friendship is Magic right in which Starlight is pretty good at Magic but not good at friendships however she is getting better, so I'm not really sure what starlight would do in order to become an alicorn plus I think there's enough Alicorns in the show already... I mean come on flurry heart is enough I really didn't mind Twilight being an Alicorn because she kind of deserved it but flurry heart just seemed a little bit too much and starlight glimmer is going to be pushing the limits.

Yeah I know right it just felt so off I mean don't get me wrong I love Starlight glimmers personality I just felt that her Arc was a bit... rushed. She appeared one season finale and she was gone for a whole season and then came back and another season finale only to be put as a main character in the continuing episodes of the show. I feel like they could have added more interactions of Starlight glimmer when she was evil just so you could give more personality and add more tidbits of her past before finally fully revealing her backstory.
In conclusion I'm saying I agree with you. I do feel like Starlight glimmer zark was completely rushed and the fact that she has such a big role in such a little amount of time is kind of weird.

To be honest, I actually think Starlight is a nice change of pace in the show. She creates a new dilemma for Twilight to deal with, which I think has been working well so far in a kind of reverse Celestia and Twilight relationship. It's an occurrence that can't be concludedΒ in one episode, which I'm personally thankful for asΒ it means the show will not fall into the same repetitive schemeΒ it has before.Β In fact, I think the whole of S7 has been quite experimental and I personally am really liking it. Anyway,Β at first I could not stand her because I thought her reformation felt extremely forced, and overall a waste of her character. That being said I think S7 has done a great job of gradually bringing her into the mane six and for the most part I've found her episodes to be enjoyable. At the moment her personality is good as well, her friendship with Trixie and episodes highlight the fact that she is never going to be on the same "goodie two shoes" level of Twilight and it's definitely a nice contrast to the strict moral code that the mane six has. She has questionable moments and I only hope that they keep her this way, even through her character development because it's part of what makes Starlight so interesting. Moreover, she has been shown to be a powerful unicorn surpassing even Twilight. I think there's so much room for episodes exploring this, the danger of her power being so powerful; especially if she were to fall back into her own ways.

Oml this has my blessing-
I only liked her when she was evil but now EVERYTHING has to be around her because she was reformed. I know rhey kinda done the same for Trixie but she's acually a decent character.
Anither thing I hate about Starlight is that they done that thing with the cutie map- now she gets called- dont see why they done that. It kinda doesnt make sence either-
Oml i ranted im so sorry;;

tbh they should have kept her as a "bad guy" when she got reformed it Just felt so forced cause "it's a show about friendship"

To be honest I actually liked when Starlight glimmer when was finally reformed. but I can understand where you're coming from the seasons have gone casually downhill since Starlight glimmer entered the picture but I still really do like the show.

I see where you're coming from too, i still watch every new episode and i really do like some them! But the excitement and mysterious vibe was gone after they made a baby alicorn, the villan that almost turned Equestria into a dry wasterland is now Twilight's hand and the creators went too far by giving the fans too much of what they wanted.. they even had to make Celestia "relatable" in A Royal Problem because that's what the fans wanted, but she wasn't meant to be a character to be focused on in the show, she was supposed to represent a leader and mentor. It's just not the same anymore.. and it all came along with Glimmer :/Β

SIR-PSYCH0-S3XY In reply to TheMoonRaven [2017-09-16 16:36:28 +0000 UTC]
Yeah totally understandable
If for some weird reason I feel like Starlight glimmer is kind of replacing Twilight I don't know but they both act very similar so I'm not very sure I totally agree with you on the Celestia ordeal I feel like they should have kept her kind of mysterious and not very relatable which I mean there's nothing wrong with that but I feel like it's just too much for a princess character in the show I mean. In the fact that Twilight Sparkle was freaking out about it didn't make things better.

Oh she is obviously replacing "unicorn Twilight", and i hate itΒ Β
She also looks like a child of Rarity and Twilight
yeah i get that, especially in season 1, oh god. And i always wished for an episode focusing on Celestia and getting to know her more. But from the past! Showing insecurity when she was younger, not an emotionally unstable 3000 year old princess with endless experience and power xD

To be honest I can actually see Starlight glimmer being a Twilight Sparkle and Rarity fan child now that you mention it XD
Yeah that's a question that's been bubbling in my mind for awhile like how did Celestia become a princess or how did she obtain those powers especially with the origin of the ponies and Equestria that kind of just made it more confusing maybe Celestia and Luna are Gods?! I have no idea-
