Description Place de la Concorde

Wife was tired...I was not...took my tripod, 20D, and wrong lens I had been using my super wide 10mm to 18mm lens all day and was tired of it's wideness, so I took my other two lenses instead. The wides I could go was 18mm and without stepping out into crazy traffic, I couldn't get the whole reflection....

Ah well, such is life.....

I think it turned out OK anyway...

I acctualy think it works with aprt of the reflection, it seems disjointed and floaty even for being a puddble on the floor. A ghostly reflection. The fountain itself is so stunning, shimmering light and the water seems so misty it all seems... majestic, as if royalty would suddnly wander up adn throw a penny in to make a wish some lonely princess in search for a prince

man i am a romantic

hope your wife didn't mind you galavanting off around the palce with your camera

Probably some royalty has done exactly that. Paris is such a beautiful city...so much history.

And, no...she was asleeep...so she didn't mind

Not getting everything in one shot was the reason God gave us stitching software

themobius In reply to ColetasSoft [2005-10-19 03:29:32 +0000 UTC]

Ya, unfortunately with super wide lenses, I haven't figured out how to stich the distortions together

Depends on how you assemble the images... by hand or with a stitching program. For QTVRs an 8mm fisheye lens is usually the most common choice (Sigma and Peleng are probably the most widely used).

I was realizing last night as I was taking a shot of the moon, that there is a whole other part to photography that I love. That is the sounds and to some extent the smells you experience when you are shooting. It's a whole body experience...crickets, water trickling, cars driving by...it's all there. The trick of photography is to capture some small part of the whole experience and convey a feeling without being there.

Wow, did I just say that? Anyway, I'm glad I conveyed that to you It was like that...

It's funny about this shot. A lot of people really like it, and I thought it was kinda OK, but not what I wanted it to be...go figure!

I'm glad you like it though!

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I love your architecturals more than anything else, the lighting here is flawless and overall composition is great.

Well...you said it twice! I'm not sure if that was on purpose or accident, but I take you point and thank you kindly! It's funny, I never thought of my arhitecturals as anything special...but...I'll have to think again!
