~ Charlie my golden dog ~

Ever since I was a very little girl I always wanted a dog.
The being and nature of the dog, it's loyalty and it's will to be loved and give love back, was really something that I wanted to experience.
I drew pictures, made secret letters which I placed in the mail box for my parents to find. Imagined my life with a dog, and spoke to my parents often.
When my parents finally agreed, and my sister and I had fallen in love with the breed of Golden Retriever, we where quick to find just the right place. Here our Charlie was, amongst his brothers and sisters, and his loveable mother Fancy.

I have written pages of his story, and how he made me feel all those years. Because he was no ordinary dog, not to my family and I at least.
He was my first dog, a real friend who was always there when I returned home, always happy even if it rained or snowed.
When I was sad he would stay in my room, laying his head on my lap, and just look up at me with his calm brown eyes. He would wag his tail, and just stay by my side, and jump up at the sign, when joy returned to me.
He was golden copper brown, beautiful, sweet, warm and loving like no other animal that has ever crossed my path.
He loved to play in the open sea - but feared for the water hose when ever he was given a bath. Hahaha, laughed so much at those moments.

I loved this dog - or I would rather say I love him.
Charlie or in the name of your birth "Sungold Fawn Ritz" - thanks for the memories, thanks for all the years that you were a part of my life. Your family will forever miss you.

Picture was done by me in the spring last year.
He was taken away from us by cancer, 10½ years of age.
