Description So, this is a late Christmas present for a dear friend  who wanted this scene to be portrayed and asked me to do it. Me happy   You gave me the incentive to draw again, so one thousand times thank you, my dear, and merry Christmas

A badly wounded Blackwall is worried for his Trevelyan, he will not be there to protect her for a while. She's reassuring him before leaving: she'll be back  soon, safe and sound.

Yhank you, I love the idea of someone who's been betrayed by a noble and whose life has been ruined by a Grand Game of power played by nobles falling for a noble offspring ;D

I have finished only one run so far, I romanced him, then I abandoned my human warrior because she was boring and I have recently abandoned my elf rogue because I imported the wrong world state and the run got spoiled by the Cole's amulet bug -.-

Inquisition stinks a bit if you play PC, that's true.

Nicely done. I really like how more defined the faces are compared to the rest of the piece; you can just sense the love and affection between the two characters.

Thank you, yes, I was asked for a scene in which emotions were protagonists, and lacking the technique all I can try to do is conveying emotions, glad I succeeded

Initially the sheets and Blackwall's belly were blurred because I wanted the eyes to be focused on their faces, then I edited because the only thing I got was.... a blurred belly and sheets

Thank you for faving and commenting

I'm glad to see  you're happy with your Dun... sorry Blackwall.

I love the light. It's kind of murky, like an old photograph or an oil painting that needs a clean. Blackwall certainly looks interesting although a man with such a beard would surely have some chest hair...

The light and texture on your Inquisitors armour is very good. Possibly you might want to soften it a little since the strokes on Blackwall's body and bandages are quite soft.

I'll have a Blackwall in reserve for when my Witcher goes on holiday. Thank you!

TheLoneInquisitor In reply to Gaspode5 [2015-01-04 21:05:36 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, another bearded warden but this time, romanceable

The light? I thank you, it's actually casual, I just desaturated a pesky sepia

Chesthair? Rrrright The healer must have shaved it in order to medicate him

The strokes on Blackwall's body and bandages are soft because they are actual strokes and I'm still struggling with definition, the Quizzie's armor is, well... a modified model

Ah I still have to play The Witcher 2 -my pc doesn't match the requirements- but we bought the xbox one for xmas, I'll buy the console version when I'll get tired of inquisition...  .... ?

Thank you

Gaspode5 In reply to TheLoneInquisitor [2015-01-05 10:55:12 +0000 UTC]

for romance!

Well, sometimes the simplest solution works best and I'm a sucker for murky pictures with a lot of shadows, as you probably have noticed.

Darn them pesky healers!

I recognise the problem. I had so much trouble not softening my strokes too much and had to really force myself to be more daring and use sharper brushes. Duncan and Mouser was a big technical experiment in that way. In fact, I still struggle with it.

I'm currently still running around in Witcher 1 and having lots of fun. I'm very much looking forward to Witcher 2 and Witcher 3 looks stunning.

My pleasure!

TheLoneInquisitor In reply to Gaspode5 [2015-01-05 17:39:48 +0000 UTC]

Well, you have your own style and I love it, shadows are just one of the many ingredients

The problem is that I haven't the slightest idea of what I should do to give life to a decent drawing, so I always make very shy, pale lines trying not to mess things up, and in the end the result is always a blurred mess

Still playing Witcher 1? Have you finished Skyrim or you gave up? I love Skyrim's combat system, it feels so life-like because you can watch your enemy straight in the eyes, feel his blows on your shield shacking you, but the game is so boring I abandoned it very quickly

Gaspode5 In reply to TheLoneInquisitor [2015-01-06 20:57:35 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes just going for it works better. I think the phrase is 'Don't be afraid of making mistakes'. Besides, this is digital drawing so you can always undo if it goes wrong.

Yep, still on Witcher 1, I like to take my time. I finished Skyrim after a few hundred hours of playing. Like you I love the combat system, it's especially brilliant for archers. If you're after social interaction Skyrim is indeed boring but I played it as an exploration game and basically sightseed my way through like a tourist, a dragon killing tourist, and then it worked.

TheLoneInquisitor In reply to Gaspode5 [2015-01-07 09:04:38 +0000 UTC]

Indeed I undo a lot of things

Yes, the aiming with the right button right? Cool I adored Oblivion, I finished a least 3 runs, but Skyrim...

In Inquisition I'm having a lot of fun with rogues, I couldn't go on with my warrior, she was boring, I made another rogue, this time an archer elf and have a lot of fun with all the nasty tricks like throwing dust in my enemies eyes, disappearing under their nose, punching them whenever they don't see me coming...

Gaspode5 In reply to TheLoneInquisitor [2015-01-07 13:15:37 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I'm almost always a rogue. Nothing like stabbing dastardly enemies in the back.

Grazie carissima

TheLoneInquisitor In reply to ShainaOtori [2015-01-05 08:52:05 +0000 UTC]
