This is the first page in the new sketchbook I received from for my birthday…which was four months ago. Why the delay? To make a long story short, an improperly closed water bottle drowned the book, and since I felt bad, I ironed out EVERY SINGLE PAGE. (That obviously didn’t take me four months, but like I said, I’m keeping the story short.)Don’t worry, it was fun. Really.
My little sister colored her, which is why it looks so amazingly beautiful. I did color it before because she initially refused to, and then she saw what I was doing and said, “Your coloring sucks. I’m going to redo it.” Family support much? It wasn’t even that bad! Alright, maybe a little. (Let’s say I did it on purpose so she would color it.) Anyway, that’s why there are two signatures on the bottom.

You ever think of going digital?

Well, aside from the fact that I know next to nothing about Photoshop and the others, I want to perfect my traditional skills before I move on. Besides, I've always had a sour grapes attitude when it came to digital art, because I'd always thought that it was much easier to undo your mistakes and so on. But I could be very wrong.

Try getting into Corel. Photoshop is a great digital program but it's pure digital. Corel can give you some damn close to true results that look just like traditional. The best thing about it though is that you don't have to wait on the materials, be it paint has to dry, pencils need sharpening (or when you run one of them down to nothing). I dislike PS though.

Cool, thanks for the advice! One of the problems I had with PS was where to find everything, even with the Help section. Does Corel also have its own jargon that it'll take me a while to understand? (Pardon my n00bness)

Ahh i dunno lol. Corel is Corel; i've not a clue if i've come across anything i didn't understand unless it's something like making tessellation or using the image hose.
