Description This was more of me trying my hand out at drawing Sanzo. 'Cause that fucker's hard to draw, homaigawd!


I figure doing one little animation where I had to draw him about thirty times was the best experience I could get. Plus, I threw Goku in for the fun of it, and for the fact that I need to learn how to draw him too.

But what am I saying? I need to learn how to draw all the Saiyuki guys. OTL

I also put Goku in clothes that ... well, he's not wearing his normal attire, and I DUNNA CARE!! I didn't want to make this too difficult.

Thank you so much!! You should definitely check out Saiyuki if you ever get the chance. It's absolutely amazing, and I got re-obsessed with it, at the moment. XD

I have never taken an animation class of any sort. I actually just think they look really cool, so I looked online for a way to animate in GIMP, and went from there. They take a whole lot of patience, though, but in the end, they usually look pretty great.


I'd really like to try out Flash sometime, but it's too expensive for me.

Yeah Flash is definately one you want to buy with a student discount. It's been forever since I did any thing serious with it though so I'm just a rookie in that area.

I kind of want to try making simple animated pictures or icons. Like blinking people. XD I might try it with the CCI style Tyrannosaurus at least.

Well, I believe that all the episodes are online. And you can find them pretty much everywhere, but I know that YouTube has them along with the movies and OVA which are SO much love.

I tried to download a trial of Flash, but it was asking me about company stuff, so I just kinda ... didn't download it. I'd still like to try it, though.

THAT'D BE SO CUTE!! I should try making some simpler animations, sometimes. XD I've thought about making myself a new icon on here, but I'm not sure what to animate. OTL

Yeah the trial only let's you use it for a month before it asks you to actually buy it everytime you try to open it.

lol If I was REALLY good at animating, I'd do an immitation of the first Cardcaptor Sakura opening with the CCI cast. XDDD (Actually it's funny enough to watch that and just imagine Sakura swapped with Iceburg. )

Just sketching CCI... I've finally gotten to the part where Franky finally arrives!

I'm not sure if there's a way around it. (At least nothing legal aside from actually buying it.) No idea if there's a way to get the download off the computer and then download the free trial again without it realizing you've downloaded it before...

I would probably only try it if I could import the video of the CCS opening to help as a guide for timing. Watching it at full speed a million times would be annoying.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!! Sounds fun!!

I mean, like, is there a way to get around all the business stuff it asks for. XD Because I'm okay with a trial version, but it asks me what business I own and stuff, so what am I supposed to say?

XD Yeah, the way I do all my animations, is that I'll get the video I like up on YouTube, then I'll freeze it second by second, take a screen shot, copy and paste it into a paint document. And I do that for the whole animation until I'm sure I've gotten every part, and then I proceed to create with those as reference. It's a long, arduous process that I don't recommend.

I guess, double check if that's required to be filled in, and if it wants some sort of business name or occupation try putting in "home" "school" "student" or the sort.

You're welcome!! XDDD I don't recommend doing it for HUGE things since you'll start to go crazy and wonder what the hell you're doing, but if there's no other way, then there's no other way. XD And it's hard enough to get each motion down simply watching the video.

Hm... If there was a way to put your animations into a video program, you could use that to put in sound. I know I've gotten animated GIFs to work in windows movie maker in the past.

It would be hard to do the CCS opening with all that happens and stopping to color it. And there are a few moments where I'd personally want to slightly change what's happening to match the different characters. Nma. I need to think about getting the doujinshi out there before even considering it. I'd probably only try if enough people liked the doujinshi to begin with.
