Don't freak out, I'm not really drawing Ultimate Spider-Man.I was recently asked to do some pages for Marvel, so I picked the Ultimate Spider-Man script. Here's pages 2 and 3 from my samples. These are my favorite of the sample pages, so I'll stop posting here.
Note: This is issue 118 or something, featured here is the birth of Firestar-- originally illustrated by Stuart Immonen. That man is awesometown, believe you me. Wish I had a fraction of his skill.

Immonen did his thing on the original pages, but i like your take as well. you've got the youthfulness of the characters down. that's what sells this, i think. great character expression too, which can get a little lost with some well-known, mainstream professionals work nowadays, if i can be frank.

Nice job. I also did this issue as samples, but I choose the final 6 pages. It's issue 119 actually. It was fun as hell to draw this.

Thanks, man! I appreciate that. Getting a request to draw a scene where there's minimal chance of backgrounds was frustrating, as I figured it'd backfire when the editors would see it-- but I think they turned out pretty nicely! (Oh, and now after seeing how Immonen drew LESS backgrounds than I did? I feel much better)
