Did this sketch for a Penciljack dot com [link] weekly sketch group!The topics were Solid Snake or Gambit. I did both.
Gambit is one of those characters you either love or you hate-- in my case, I'll break my own rule and say I only kind of like him. I enjoy he has part of my name (Remy/Jeremy), and when I first saw him, I'll admit I thought he was kinda cool. Sure, he was an amalgamation of Wolverine and Nightcrawler rolled into one, but his energy signature and acrobatic moves were pretty awesome at the time with Jim Lee's art on the book. He's kinda lame in some ways, but I enjoy his role on the team, and would love to see a fun, razor-sharp X-Men with him on the roster again one of these days.

Aww, many thanks! Very cool-- looking forward to his silver screen debut in the upcoming Wolverine movie? My wife was in a film with the actor playing him a year or so ago.

This is truly awesome, and yeah, Remy is my favorite X-Man, and yeah, the writers screwed him over in basically every universe...anyway, great work

There was a recent issue of X-Men First Class or somesuch that had a great Gambit tale in it, written by Marc Sumerak-- definitely worth the price of admission. Check it out if you get a chance, I really enjoyed it.

You went pretty all-out on the details here. His hair and his face look pretty awesome and the details are really strong in those areas, but you also put a lot of care into getting things like his collar and such right. I dunno, it's obvious you put a lot of work into this and I think it all paid off to make it a really slick looking pic. : )

Great piece & I would love to know who would make up that "a fun, razor-sharp X-Men with him on the roster" roster of X-men if you could call those shots! Maybe do us a pin up of that team of your "what ifs"
