Description Starting in 2007, I was brought on-board to illustrate original all-new comic books to be inserted into two-figure action figure packs for Hasbro's G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary line.

The comics were written by GI Joe creator Larry Hama, and the stories based during the original 80s comic run. I've illustrated several of these, and my last wave JUST CAME OUT! Get 'em now!

This is easily my favorite issue of the whole bunch. The story doesn't take itself too seriously, the colors were the best of my run, and my pencils were some of my favorites of my own work. Far from perfect (like the editorial re-drawing of certain elements or removing my signature from the issue entirely), but overall my pick for the best of the bunch.

Enjoy!

Great drawing. Unfortunately, the story was way too over the top for me.

Understood! Still, though-- that's G.I. Joe. It's not ACTUAL soldiers or warfare, it's the closest to superheroes the military genre could get while aiming at a 8-12 demographic. I have fun with it, smile, and move on to the next. Not everything has to be true-to-life accuracy, after all-- some things can just be fun and all ages.

Yo, Joe!

I expected it to be tongue in cheek, I remember Trip-wire's clumsiness. I I enjoy CC's over the top craziness of the toon, but the plot of accidentally setting CC's mask to self-destruct, not so much.

Yeah, they're packaged with the 2-character packs (called comic packs). Written by Joe creator Larry Hama, as well.

Just look for the covers I posted on the toy shelves-- they are just about everywhere.

The Joe collectors tend to snatch them up as they're being shelved in my area, so I've been lucky to find one here or there. I see doubles and triples of the previous waves, though.

Keep your eyes open and you'll see them in no time. I'm glad they're selling well for Hasbro.
