Mmmm... nice. While I agree that it's not anime, I do think it bears a strong resemblanse to anime in many ways. I guess it's hard, sometimes, to distinguish between anime and not anime, which is why they delete too much.
Again, it nice. the pose is nice, and the muscle tone and stuff like that is great.

One reason I specified the NOT ANIME thing is because DA generalizes too much. My style is just comic art. Granted it is Manga influenced, but its also Edo-era, and pre-Raphealite influenced. Its got alot of European qualities to it, which I use in everything I draw. I've done aloooot of research, I have many different drawing styles, ETC and it pisses me the hell off when some Jerk ass admin comes around and deletes it because they think anything that doesnt look like Stan-Lee drew it is ANIME. Dont get me wrong, I love Anime, I also lovr Marvel and Darkhorse and Korean comic art. I dont wanna be lumped into those categories, although they ALL inspire me. Forgive me for the lecture, but you get it right?
The problem with DA is that since they run an art community, they believe its up to them to decide what art is. Completly making the uniqueness and creativity of every Deviant on here Null and void, and practically against the rules. They forget that art is an expression, not a product.
Sorry, I'm ranting.

I totally agree. They do run things a bit crotchety, don't they? I do, though, think they're doing it out of the best intensions. They just want to have the best place possible, and they want to try to keep it clean and stuff, and so it quickly turns a bit bad if they don't watch it. Plus, you can never please everyone in a place as big as this, but it's never fun when YOU'RE the one who's not pleased. ^_^

man, I understand your pain - I have a couple friends whose entire galleries are deleted because of this.
I love the effects in the character's body.. like the weapon and the hair. the expression on its face is exquisite.. beautiful job - I don't think it needs anymore work.

that rocks! i know how you feel, i try to do more fantasy stuff all the time but i keep getting told its anime no matter how hard i try. I love how you shaded it and I think it is definatly NOT anime, I would love to see it finished!
