Making sure the guard was secure around the fire place; Joey let Corey go first up the stairs.

Corey heading to the bathroom to get cleaned up while Joey waited in his bedroom.

“Do you want to sleep in my room again tonight? I don’t mind.” Joey asked, trying not to sound desperate, which he wasn’t.

“Okay.” Corey smiled, looking at the floor, most of his hair covering his face.

Joey walked past Corey, gently lifting his chin without stopping.

“Don’t let your hair cover your face.” Corey turned to face Joey as he walked into the bathroom. “Some people actually want to see it.” Joey shut the door behind him, leaving Corey staring at it, not really knowing what to say.

Scratching the back of his neck, Corey slowly walked into Joey’s bedroom.

Getting himself ready for bed, he pulled the duvet up to his waist as he leant back on the headrest.

“Warming the bed up?” Joey laughed, dumping his jumper onto his chair.

Corey didn’t say anything, instead he watched Joey take his t shirt off. His black hair resting on his pale back.

Taking a tie, Joey loosely put his hair up.

“It looks better down.” Corey yet again spoke without thinking.

“Yeah?” Joey questioned, though didn’t wait for an answer as he took the tie out. “Better?”

“Much.” Corey smiled, pulling the duvet back to let Joey in. “You know, something’s on your mind, want to tell me about it?”

Corey was right, and Joey decided to tell him one of the problems.

“I’m just stressed about going back to work, we have a really tight deadline and the way it’s going, it won’t be met. Sometimes I feel I’m the only one working my butt off to sort it out and the others are only giving fifty percent.”

“Well why don’t you tell them?” Corey turned to lie on his side.

“I don’t want to come across as a dick.”

“You won’t, they should know that it needs to be done.”

“Maybe I’m too nice to them.” Joey sighed.

“What do you do for your job?”

“I’m a computer games tester.”

“Wow, I bet you’re one of the best.”

“Not really, there are others better than me.” Joey laughed.

“Not in my eyes. Just round them all up, tell them what needs to be done and when it has to be done and then threaten that if it still isn’t done then they’ll have to go into over time, that’ll get them working.” Corey smirked.

“Maybe you’re right, I could call over time, but then I’ll be doing it too.”

“You’ll be okay, I can take you to work and pick you up, look after Lady and stuff.” Corey offered.

“I thought I was supposed to be looking after you!”

“You are, you’ve already done enough.”

Deciding to shut up and let Joey get some sleep, Corey lent over the man, placing a soft kiss on his cheek again.

Slowly backing away, Corey gradually ran his hand over the smaller mans chest. Watching Joey’s eyes follow his hand.

He knew Joey wouldn’t resist him, say no or get angry.

Smirking, Corey yet again laid down and shut his eyes. Still Joey didn’t move, his skin burnt, his stomach felt as though he was falling.

Turning to look at Corey, Joey wanted him to do it again. Never before had he liked another man, let alone let one touch him like Corey did.

There was something about him that attracted Joey, he wasn’t sure if it was one factor or the whole package.

Still he looked at his skin, expecting to see a red burnt mark where Corey’s hand had been, but nothing.

Just as Joey turned away, he felt it again, Corey’s hand lay over his heart, his eyes holding a smirk.

“Joey, calm down or you’ll do yourself an injury.” Corey spoke, feeling Joey’s heart beat getting faster.

“I can’t” Joey swallowed thickly.

“Why not? What’s the matter?”

“Nothing.” This time Joey shut his eyes, trying to think of anything but what was happening at that moment in time.

“Come on Joey, you can tell me, just say it.” Corey was giving an open invitation to Joey; he couldn’t make it anymore clearer.

“I’m fine, honestly.” Joey smiled.

Taking his hand away, Corey shut his eyes, his arms pulled to his chest.

“You know Joey, you’re a horrible liar.”

Kissing Corey’s forehead, Joey too settled himself, blinking away tears.

“I don’t want to lie.” He whispered.

Joey felt sick all night, he knew Corey was making it plain as day that he knew Joey liked him, but why did he not open his mouth and say those stupid words.

He had no one but himself to blame, he felt like stabbing his heart, because his shyness and uncertainty had already done it mentally.

Come morning and Joey was a wreck, his cheeks and eyes were red from crying, his body a shaking mess.

Looking at Corey, he held his hand out to touch him, to move his hair away from his face.

So close he had got, but at the last minute pulled his hand to his chest, hugging it.

Splashing his face with cold water, he held onto the sink as he looked in the mirror. It wasn’t a pretty sight.
