It's beautiful!
(This is totally random, but do you like the artwork of Frank R. Paul? I was trying to remember where I'd heard of Mizar before, and then I remembered it was one of his alien paintings, "The Floating Homes of Mizar.")

Mizar came from a real-world star chart on whcih I based my Trek maps. Mizar is near Kzinti space, that is, where the Polaris operates.

He mainly did sci-fi art in the earlier half of the 20th century, so yes, they were using real star and planet names, but before anyone had really seen much about them. So his work is full of retro aliens and all sorts of imaginings of things that never were (like Mars and Venus being inhabited). It might not be scientifically accurate now, but it still inspires my imagination.

Beautiful shot as always. I am brushing up on my Polaris lore, I had the idea to mention the ship in passing a scuffle with Cardassian rebels in a fanfiction of my own I am putting together.
