Description This has to be my favorite piece of all I've ever done. I love it to death.

It was a piece made for a contest on the Nintendo Nsider Zelda forums to personify a sage/sages from the Zelda games. I chose those of the forest, Saria and Fado, ranging from Ocarina of Time to The Wind Waker.

I love how it came out, espeically due to my rather lacking skills with colored pencils, not that that's changed. *rolls eyes*

EDIT: Finally gave a resize, hopefully this is better.

Wow,the setup is very nice!Fun Fact:Fado is actually a Kokiri girl, whos persona as a character separate from the other Kokiri,as well as her Wind Temple(the remnants of which can be observed in the wind-based challenge in Ganon's Tower in OoT),were scrapped. Her idea was picked back up and used in TWW instead.read more on Zelda Wiki ^^

This is so cool. Amazing detail. Is that Fado on the bottom with the blood?

I dunno either. Mostly because I didn't make or title it, but I thought you'd like the history. I'd like to see another rendering, maybe of Saria with Link and Fado and maybe a few other Kokiri, that way, they're not so sad. Or, you could have one of Saria and Link on one half, and Fado and the Hyrule King on the other. The Sages' awakeners and the Sages. They both sound neat, though. Your pic is really awesome, too.

I really never have drawn any of the Kokiri beyond Saria and by association Link. In my head I know I'd enjoy it, but I have a bad tendency to procrastinate. It might happen, who knows!

Thanks though!

Laruto was the Sage of Earth, and Medli took her place.
Fado was the Sage of Air, and Makar took his place.
Indeed, they were both Kokiri Sages.

Maybe that's why I titled it Forest Sage. They were both Sages who originated from the forest. It might not have had anything to do with Saria's title of Forest Sage.

*shrugs* I really don't remember anymore.

To be honest, this should have been called "Kokiri Sages", because it doesn't show JUST the Forest Sage, eh?

Saria looks sad, lemme guess, she's sad that Link isn't there?
Fado looks like he was killed by Phantom Ganon. Was that the desired effect?

Overall, a glorious piece.

Was Fado referred to as a sage in TWW? I don't remember if they, meaning Fado and Laruto, were given that title. It's been too long since I've played through TWW.

I'm pretty sure the hollow look of Fado was because of his eventual death by Ganon and his minions, but I can't recall what was Saria's deal. This was a contest to draw sages I think. I guess that might answer my question as to if they called Fado a sage.

Thank you!

I think of Saria in WW, and all I feel is sorrow. Simply put, she admitted that they couldn't live together, in my opinion, that makes me think Saria knew Zelda was gonna make two timelines. She's a lot more mature than she looks. And Fado, well, I always think, "He's more a Hero than a Sage, he stuck by his duty to the end." Glad they didn't make Fado look bloody in WW.

He must've had an slow
death, seeing how hishost wandered so long. It's actually sad...tho-
-ugh..as he is, though only physically, a child,(I think...AWKWARD.)he must've been awfully vulnerable.

I'm pretty sure all the Kokiri are wise beyond their years. We just never really got to see it, what with them being in only one game.

Fado's fate is sad too. It's really too bad we never get to learn what happens in the space between Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker.

Joshing3the7Kokiri In reply to TheFalseLegend [2008-03-20 22:11:52 +0000 UTC]

The Kokiri all act like they're only ten years old with four exceptions, five counting Link who I believe to be at least part Kokiri, and they're Saria, Fado, the girl who stands on the tower in the middle of the Kokiri Forest in young timeline and in the Lost Woods for a little bit, and Mido. I see little evidence of the other Kokiri acting as though they were mature like these five.

TheFalseLegend In reply to Joshing3the7Kokiri [2008-03-20 23:43:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, they're NPCs who don't really acount for much. I'd wager there's more to them then we see. Ocarina of Time was a great game, but there wasn't the space to allow for too many characters with much depth. Some of them are just tutorial characters to teach Link to do this or that if the player can't figure it out for themselves. But I've always thought they were wiser then they let on. Romantic notion I know, but OoT was/is a big deal to me.

Joshing3the7Kokiri In reply to TheFalseLegend [2008-03-23 02:18:28 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, true. OoT didn't give enough depth to many characters, MM is MUCH better in that regard alone. Kokiri are the best, though! Unfortunately, they don't make an appearance in MM or TP and the only one we see in WW is already dead... Poor Fado... May his spirit play on in the next world...

TheFalseLegend In reply to Joshing3the7Kokiri [2008-03-23 03:53:39 +0000 UTC]

I have to agree, MM did an excellant job with character depth. So much so that I don't feel any game since has really topped it. TWW was close but TP didn't stand a chance. Too many characters left unexplored.

I really want to see the Kokiri again in a game. I want to interact with them and not hear about them too late like with Fado.

This really came out better than I'd expected it too. Glad you like it! Nice choice of favorite character! Saria shouldn't have been a one shot in the Zeldaverse. Okay, I guess she gets a bit of a cameo in The Wind Waker . . .

FireAmy In reply to TheFalseLegend [2007-06-04 04:42:02 +0000 UTC]

Really? Where's the cameo?

Yeah...I have a ton of favorite characters...Saria's one of them, I can't make up my mind x_x (And Link is also up there of course <3)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheFalseLegend In reply to FireAmy [2007-06-04 19:08:07 +0000 UTC]

It's sort of a cameo. I think technically cameos are supposed to be the actual person, but she does appear on one of the stain glass windows in the Master Sword room of Hyrule Castle under the Great Sea . . .

Zelda does have alot of really awesome characters!

Oh right! The stained glasses! I remember that part. One of my favorites part from Wind Waker. The Saria stained glass was cute.

I love Fado.... and I don't know why! ^^ your art makes me want to just hug 'im! saria and fado suffered so much... and in the end they could help out a friend fight the very suffering and evil they faced. *sigh* whoever writes the story of Zelda.... needs to be sent flowers... lawl

Very true, that story is pretty sad. I wonder if we'll ever see another game with Fado? I really love him, as well as Saria, maybe even more so!
