A stunning wand with a handle of old growth from deep within an enchanted forest and a body made from the ivory bone of some unknown creature...

Made from polymer clay over a wooden core for strength. The white setting in the handle glows bright green in the dark. The wand body has streaks of glowing green.

Measures about 13 3/4" long.

Great for a costume prop or display. Not meant as a toy or for small children.

I used a polymer clay (like fimo, premo, or sculpey), it holds it's shape pretty well as long as it's handled gently.  The wand is made around a wood core.  There's little to no shrinkage when baked so it's not a concern.  Mostly you just have to be careful when setting it down on the baking sheet so that the points where it makes contact are strong enough to support it.  There might be a few flattened spots from that, but not too noticeable.

It's made from glow in the dark polymer clay.

So, you can bake polymer clay over wood like a thin dowel rod? I've been making wands and aluminium wire isn't really strong enough.

yup, the dowel rods work really well. You have to be careful about smoothing the clay while its on the rod or it'll thin out and elongate and not fit right anymore, sometimes when that happens you can feel the wood plonking around inside the wand because it's not attached properly. But for the most part I've had good results.

i would suggest you make a wand from [link] , cause if you can make a wand like this from wood and clay, think of what you can do with a piece of paper and hot glue!XD their are also a bundle of other sweet models their too!

I'm assuming the polymer clay you used was put in the oven to harden? So...was the wood put in the oven along with it?? I know it's a stupid question! But I still wanna know XD
