Description "You'd figure that somepony as smart as Twi would have realized by now that the mornings I have the hardest time waking up are all kinda after the nights that she stays out the latest.

She'd totally freak out if she realized that I stay up waiting for her to come home, but... well, yeah.

I'm old enough to take care of myself, and stay home alone, and put myself to bed, I'm no kid anymore... but, well, I don't like going to sleep when she's not here.

I get lonely without her, is all...

So, I sit and watch. If she's not here by 9:47 my tummy starts to ache (is that weird?) and I start having bad ideas. Ideas like, 'what if she met another cockatrice, or a diamond dog? What if she's hurt, or alone... scared...'

But, heh, but she always comes around, and then really quick I put out the candle and I'm in my basket before she's any the wiser.

You'd think that somepony as smart as Twi would smell the candle smoke, or see that the window is open, or maybe guess that I'm still awake...

But maybe I'm just that good.

I just wish I hadn't had all the practice..."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And this, dear faithful, is what it looks like when a fan-fiction author tries to make visual art.

Don't worry about it, I'm certainly not giving up the quill and ink for the paintbrush. This project certainly was inspired by all of the sketches I received at BronyCon.

New story by next weekend, I hope. Really busy week this week!

No reason you can't do both, paintbrush in one hand and the other at the keyboard. If not for limited time, I sure as hell would.

Yeah, Bronycon was strikingly inspiring, artistically and beyond. So much so that not only have I gotten back into practice with my WIP pieces (sorta), it inspired a friend of mine to job a few hundred on art supplies to practice and start a comic series, and his extra supplies went to another friend that couldn't afford it so he could do HIS amazing art and practice to build a portfolio.

Ah, Bronycon. Perpetuating creativity and artistic pursuits since 2011. Gotta love this fan community.

And I see you are no less inspired! Not a bad piece of work you have hear, TD. I like the caption in the description. Your Twi/spike fanon lives on as it should. Season 3 had best make it canonical at some point.

Glad that BronyCon was such a success in your eyes, Dev. It was great to meet ya', and here's hoping that all of our hopes and dreams come true in season three!

It's cool to have a face to put with the words on the screen now, I gotta say.

We can only hope... they MUST get it right eventually, no?

It could perhaps do with a little more dynamic shading, but I can hardly judge that too harshly since you're not an actual artist now can I? This is a good attempt though as the lines and shape of Spike and the background are generally accurate. Not bad at all for a non artist

Oh, and new story?

Yeah, I have a lot to learn if I'm going to try stuff like this in the future. Thanks for going easy on an author who tried to draw!

Well if you want to draw a little bit more then try following these guides:

I managed to learn a lot about drawing ponies from them. I'll admit I'm no professional, but it helped me improve my style nonetheless.

Wait, wait, wait...

-YOU- drew that?! Damn, I must say TD, that is pretty impressive. That is by far, way better than anything that I can freehand draw. I'm not all that decent at free drawing people or that sort of thing. Nature and backgrounds, I like to consider myself being half-way acceptable if I have some idea as to what I am doing. Of course then again, I haven't exactly tried to draw anything by hand within the past 5-6 years I believe. (School work and class notes excluded -> had to draw stairs and the spaces between walls a number of times for class.)

But enough about me, back to your drawing. If you couldn't tell from above, I think you did a really good job on that drawing. Really captured what you were going for. Especially in Spike's facial expression.

Oh? A new story?! Awesome. I can't wait. Will this be another longer one like 'A Sweet Taste of Cake'?

Heh, thanks Redz! I was inspired to give it a shot after watching all of the people who made sketches for me at BronyCon. I'm glad you like the expression.

The story should only be about three chapters, but it's already spilling over into a monster. This sketch was made while procrastinating over the story and like three other things... ...

MrMenelausRedz In reply to TheDescendantofKehAn [2012-07-12 02:42:17 +0000 UTC]

...Three other things? Three other stories perhaps? Are you planning on spoiling us with multiple stories released within a relatively close time? *pinkie grin*

TheDescendantofKehAn In reply to MrMenelausRedz [2012-07-12 12:55:43 +0000 UTC]

The three other things are "real life" stuff that I really, really, really should be working on rather than ruminating over ponies!
