Day 06 of Sketchtavern's Draw-a-day February Challenge brings a new piece.A piece of fan art from a film that's not liked by many (from what I'm aware anyway)
All in all I am a fan of this film. I thought the story was solid and the animation was nothing short of classy.
The title of the piece is the name of Jim Hawkins' theme from the Disney Feature animation film Treasure Planet.

I still don't get why this movie isn't liked by many people. It's one of my favorites and I can't see many faults in it.

wonderful! i really like it! There's isnt much classy jim-art out her (mostly fan girl-related JIm hawkins art blablabla) but this is really nice.
you are absolutely right about the movie not recieving enough recognition, ,did you know it was the first disney movie to mix traditional 2D animation with computer-generated Elements? (Silver's arm, leg, galactic whales...ect)

I took a class by the guy that did all the key frame animations for this character. He ended up using me as a model in one of his paintings! It was pretty awesome.
Anyways, killer piece man. The nostalgia helps.

love this movie, i remeber watching it as a kid and then when the moon was a crescent shape in the sky i would remeber the scene where it shows the moon as a space port and i would always want to go there and take an adventure through space. then i got to high school and learned that the moon is always a round shape and there was no space port on it. thanks for ruining my dream school, college isn't helping either. >

the title of what you have drawn and this particular moment you have decided to draw says A LOT about Jim and he's hunger of achievement and acceptance that drove him through out he's life, and Silver got the chance to receive it full blown, and Jim in himself, got the acceptance that he, for so long, searched for.
this moment and title says it all, he's hunger. It's still there.
