Tried to paint in photoshop, endup needed painter to complete it. Used another way to paint it, turns out took longer than I thought. The scar are unexpected harder to paint than the rest.Update:
I got a DD feature~! and thanks for the comments, I've already acknowledge theres perspective error at the tail, sinceI'm still lack pf experience in drawing, theres should be many place that look awkward too.
And also, some of you had an idea the tail being another thing, so keep it beween us, you wont needed be pointing out because I've already got a LOT people comments with same though. But do mind the language if you're going to say, some audience might get offended.

TBH It doesn't need to "look" underwater. Something about airborne whales makes me smile.

I like the perspective and all but if his abdominal muscles trail all the way to his tail, where does he poop out of? Considering that the tail is also an extension of the spine. That's the only thing that puzzles me.

By reference, the cloaca are located at the start of the tail, so it should also bend forward too. Guess I paint that muscle area a bit high, so its quite confusing actually. My bad

it's looks more like he's watching the moon on ground, I agree with symbolhero, you might want to add a few light rays or maybe some waves to make it look more like he's underwater

This is an interesting piece of art, I really love it, and the angle to see the surface looks pretty good.
One question, is he under the water, right? Or is that or the whales are flying heh, silly of me XP I could make you two suggestions, it doesnΒ΄t look that itΒ΄s underwater, IΒ΄ll add some ray lights and some reflects of the surface, and in the crocΒ΄s body, where the shiny parts is, put the reflects of the water over there.... well, I donΒ΄t know how to explain it, let me try with some of my works:
