Description

So i tried something a little different here, not entirely sure if this one worked out as well as i would like but i suppose a few more attempts and i'll be able to figure out if i like this process or not. The main issue I feel is that the stick the parrot is standing on possibly detracts from the overall image, the next few i will have some photo edits where its purely of the animal in question.

So the main idea is now that i have a new wide angle lens i can try to take some good landscape photos which i can then use to make these edits. As you may already gather i have taken the original photo of an orange bellied parrot, blacked out the background and replaced the original image with an image of the landscape where the birds live in.

Process is relatively simple.

Step 1: Generated a new layer and slowly blacked out the background as close as i could to the subject i wanted to keep. first attempt was with the brush with 0 softness

Step 2: I went over the same layer but with the brush with much more softness so that the blackness would kind of fade into the subject itself

Step 3: I went over the same layer one last time but less softness to eliminate any jarring sudden changes between the subject and the black background

Step 4: Inserted the second image underneath the black layer and hid the original layer with an opacity of 0% I then did some general edits to the background image to make the colours pop out a little more etc.

Step 5: Finally i went back to the black background with the brush to apply a little more softness where needed and the image is done!
