Description Full colour YCH for reederda of his character Talon

I'm quite happy with this one c:
I was inspired by the calm summer moments while traveling in Norway and I think I managed to show some of that through this drawing

Hope you like it too!

The background and the composition for this are drop-dead gorgeous. You draw the dragon and the background seperatly? I notice this in some of your previous works too but the character and background don't seem to mix that well. However, if you look at your previous work that I've linked here, you have absolutely nailed it. It fits perfectly. I think it's the lighting and the shadows on the character that make it fit. For your next piece, I'd try and experiment a bit with deeper shadows and highlights.

I'm looking forward to what you'll come up with next.

I did draw them separately. I drew the background first and it's what I usually do, and then try and blend the character in. However, in the one you linked, I was drawing both the character and the background interchangeably.  I see now that it's something I should do more often because it seems to blend in more nicely.
Thank you for the critique, I'll try your suggestion for the next one c:

I use the same technique. Though I usually draw the character first and then the background, since the character is supposed to be the focus anyway. Just be sure to have a good idea of where your lightsource is and shade the character appropriatly, it should fit that way. If at the end you still think something's off, try adding a layer with the dominant color over the canvas and set it to Overlay with a low opacity, between 4 and 10%. Have fun.

The dragon seems... miscolored a bit? Compared to background. Or misshaded, perhaps. Otherwise, this is magnificent, as the other things you create

I upped the saturation of the dragon in the end, to make it pop out more. Guess I did it a bit too much? x3
