haha, excellent! you're the second one to take the effort and succeed..
this is up in aΒ 3ft tallΒ frame in an Olympia cafe right now! i doubt anyone will take the time in there to decode (and I flipped it again, so she's facing right and even more wingdings are reversed)

i can only thank the Volta for being so kick ass to inspire it. *as a side note, i just had this printed out for the first time and it looks pretty wicked.

i can feel the Volta radiating from this painting
an odd blend of the surreal, the organic, and the ethereal. with a little hint of twisted psychedelia for good measure. Well done!

if i could only do visually what they pull off sonically.. at least what they used to pull off.
thanks for the high praise.

Sometimes I want to look inside your brain, but it's probably a one-way ticket.
The blue toes are a fucking nice little touch, haha.

seems like the tunnel's been closed for repairs for a while these days (months).. gotta find some way to get back in the cockpit and stay there.
anyroads, thanks for the kindly words - like uranium pellets a little goes a long way

That looks really great. I love the colors.
I downloaded a trial of Painter 12 and I still couldn't wrap my head around it. There's so many brushes and options that I always get overwhelmed. Plus, my computer is really old and Painter runs like crap on it!

ha, yeah, if it's any consolation Painter 12 (..11, 10, 9) runs like crap even on a quad-core with 8gb ram, especially if you try to do any lasso selections, transforms, layer cutting, text, filters, etc (do all that in PS).
Painter's huge advantage is the much better brush system (blenders, distortions, etc).
if you want, let me send you my workspace [need email] - i've compiled a palette of a couple dozen of the most useful brushes i've found over the years (plus some i've made myself). it's a huge help to get started and cut through potentially fruitless experimentation. also, this guy's blog article really helped me with some brushes (even after years of me already using the program).

Thanks for the offer, but I uninstalled the program a while back. I if I ever try again, I let you know.
You're right about resizing objects. If I ever tried to resize an object, I'd start it and then go get something to eat and maybe when I came back it would be done! It does make me feel a bit better knowing that it isn't just my POS computer!

India! I wasn't very attracted to many locals if I remember correctly. I'm still deathly ill with the yellow virus. It may slowly be turning into a cancer...
Only god will can wipe out all the asians and cure me of my illness.

haha, score! you are l33t l3g10N.
this piece named after a kickass Mars Volta song which carried me for a few years, check it out to relieve some frustration (or not, probably won't make any more sense after listening but the refrain always stuck in my head... pretty twisted lyrics all around)
and thanks, these pieces are always, by far, my favorite to do, usually 90% in one go (Painter), and then some fun photoshop experimenting (text? textures? filters?) a couple weeks later to finish it off.
this is one of the first times i've ever used the boatload of fx and distortion brushes i spent my first ever Painter session toiling with. funny to realize how useful they are when you're not just fucking around with them.
