Cool! Did you fill up all the water using creative, or was it already there?

With a dam like this, I'd assume the water was man-made.

Yep, most likely. Though I do think placing that much water would be a bit difficult. At least, for me.

When I did a similar thing I used a trick where you make a dirt platform near where you want the water level to be at and make the first layer of water on top of it, since you can fill every square, and then remove the platform. It fills out nicely. (If that made any sense! [: )

That's what I did too. It made things a lot simpler. However on my next project, I've had to employ the use of world edit. Which makes filling a lake ridiculously easy.

Mm, sure would. I never bothered to familiarise myself with those tools.

haha yeah it's man made I just put a single layer of ground right below the desired water level and then flooded it and then removed it. It was pretty simple. But I was just making this as a practice run for what I really have planned which will be FAR larger and will take FAR more effort.

Yeah, I did the same thing when I made a big dam with some pals. I hope your next creation turns out as well. [:

I press the key on my keyboard called (Prt Sc Sys Rq) which takes a screen shot of your computer screen and then you go into a photo editing software and just hit paste, and it pastes the image. It's a really easy way to take quick screen shots if something is happening on any game your playing that you simply must capture.

shift + command + 3 will take a screenshot and safe it to the desktop, if you want to be able to see the window around it. Since you're on a mac, you get to skip the whole "go into a graphics program and paste it then save the image" crap, hitting those 3 buttons at once saves the image for you. If you have your sound on, you'll hear a noise like a picture being taken.
If you don't, you can hit f1 to turn the interface off and f2 to take a screenshot that'll be saved to macintosh HD/your username/library/application support/minecraft/screenshots. This works on PCs too. If you're on a laptop keyboard, or if your f-whatever keys share other functions (like screen brightness and sound), just hit the fn button and then hit f1 and/or f2.

xD Mac's still have nothing over PC's even in that category. Want a free Photoshop like program? Go grab Gimp or Paint.Net. Want a free 3D modeling software then go grab Blender. lol there is no reason to get a Mac unless you keep getting viruses.

The Gimp might be free (and also available for macs), but its interface is awful. Not a fan. The weird thing is that it's open source and it's been around for years, so you'd think someone with a decent grasp on GUI design would have gotten to it by now, but no such luck.
There are lots of reasons to get a mac, but really...the most important one is preference. I work with/support/repair/get mad at/etc. PCs (and have for years), but I still choose to use a mac at home because I like it better. If I need something from windows I can switch over, but I rarely find that I need to do that.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I happen to prefer PC's. Also see if you like Paint.Net's GUI better. I prefer that program a lot and it has a HUGE plugin database. I used that program to make this [link] using a plugin that let's you take flat maps and curve them into a planet's shape.

it also costs $700. If I got a free copy I would be using Photoshop instead.

I got both of those. Actually, I got one of the more recent versions, which came with no a lag guarantee, a 3-year warrantee, and highest graphic card on the market. Also, I could get something like BootCamp, which allows Macs to run like a PC, so I can have THE POWER!!

I don't do that because it adds an extra step (not that that extra step is hard xD), but the button I press streamlines the process by allowing me to not have to go into the screenshot's folder to edit it. This way I can save it to the folder with all my other photos. It's sort of an organizational thing.
