A mother's day gift for my mom, because apparently I haven't made her art in a while.
There's a lot of personal symbolism in here for her--she's always related very strongly to wolves for a lot of reasons, but especially the family bond and representations of motherhood. She's got a very green thumb and roses have always been her favorite flowers to grow, but she lives up north now and has recently taken to collecting orchids. Soooo here you go mom, some wolfy flowers for you, omg stop making me sad with guilt hahahaI am...really, really proud of this piece. I tried some stuff that I honestly haven't ever done before (roses! flowers! ugh green things!) and they turned out better than I hoped! I honestly have always avoided drawing vegetation of any kind because GUH HARD AND SENSELESS HOW DO I ART PLANT but look! Look, they look like flowers! I did it!
So yeah, I'm really happy with this one. Hope you enjoy too!

It's so colourful, but not overwhelming about it, and despite the large amount of greys it's still a very warm piece.
This is multiple layers too, right? Background green and gold bits, wolf with trees and flowers, and then that one foreground rose?

This is super pretty <3 I love the colors of the flowers and the nice contrast you created with the gray underground. The wolf is the perfect balance between both of these elements and is a wonderful eye-catcher. The details of the fur are really great and the eye looks so lifelike.
