Ah yes. Some time ago I remarked on how I would color this thing, and here it is.I must admit, rendering this antique flying machine proved to be more fun than I thought, especially when it came to the final shading for that museum-like lighting.Β

This is a very well drawn plane, it's nice to see biplanes get some lovin', especially in such an interesting lighting effect such as the museum-esqueΒ lighting style. Really good work with the details and coloring as well!

Yes, biplanes deserve some more lovin' in art and so forth.
I was originally going to make a museum-like ambiance, but I ultimately chose the simple lighting on the plane.

MmhmsΒ <: something about them has this nostalgic-like feeling of calm and tranquility when imagining flying in one of those things. I only rode in one once, but when I did, it was far more 'personal' than flying a commercial airline, it felt like I was really going on an adventure somewhere. I imagine that's how it may always feel when riding in one. It would have been interesting to see a full on museum piece to highlight the plane, perhaps give it a background of which character bravely used it for whatever measure and though it may have been damaged, was restored to be kept in pristine condition for others to admire the dedication of said character. Just something off the top of my head; but either way, the route you took was equally just as good! It really helps focus on the plane itself and brings out its design.

I recall taking a biplane ride as well with my dad some years back. I can safely say that it was an experience I'll never forget.

Wow, this must have taken ages, and the proportions and angles are really good too.
I think the propeller is really the only thing that could use improvement. ^^

I wouldn't really say THAT long, but then again drawing an aircraft with decent proportions and angles is a lengthy process.

Aaahh I couldn't agree more! there's something really neat about them.
one reason I dont mind living in a flight path of the airport. during the summer quite a few old aircraft (mostly WWII) fly over. I get giddy, not gonna lie >XD

haha indeed. would be a bummer to get ready for all the shows, and find out something was amiss. can't say I mind it though. I really do love seeing them fly over, and be able to hear the eerie hum of their engines. gotta say I'm pretty in love with the sound of the B-17
