He does get up early, but he's also one of those people who can stay up half the night, too. Prowl is one of those quietly energetic people.

His portrayal in Animated was really interesting to me, because TFA Prowl's personality had a lot to do with how I've always seen G1 Prowl: quiet, introspective, far too intense for his own good, and adorkably intolerant of foolishness, though overall pretty zen about life. This whole "Prowl the prick who flips tables" thing is pretty far from how I see him. I preferred Animated's take, as it seemed to more closely resemble his G1 self. So the long and short of it is that, yes, I do see Prowl as someone who likes to get up early, get the freshest cup of coffee, and enjoy the silence for a little while before the rest of the zoo awakens.

Ah, indeed. I'm always in awe of those sort of people I'm so glad that I'm not the only person who thinks that G1 Prowl is calm, collected, and a consummate professional (you know, the opposite of someone who loses their cool and flips tables over). Of course anyone can be upset, but I like to think that he approaches everything with the mind of unflagging problem-solver. /character analysis XD;;

I know everyone has their own take on what G1 was. What I think of as clear and obvious, I've realized other people don't see, so I try to keep that in mind. However, that having been said, I think Prowl has been written further and further out of character, particularly in the comics, and in the end, I just wish some of these writers would express their anti-authority angst on someone else's favorite character. Prowl is much more interesting as he was originally written, and I get tired of seeing him as the punchline in a neverending uptight-cop joke.
