to say that Demeter had bigger issues than finding a baby sitter would be an offensive understatement.
Nevertheless, the need for a sitter was apparent. To be frank, Demeter was disgusted with herself that she hadn’t noticed sooner. Ludvig had been looking thin for a few days at that point, and he’d been so tired as well. She should’ve acted faster. If she hadn’t been so neglectful, she might’ve been able to catch the disease in time, and her son wouldn’t be at risk of being paralyzed or worse. The guilt from it made the pale biped sick to her stomach. He’d declined rapidly, hardly able to stay awake, all feverish and thin. Demeter needed to be there for him then more than ever, but to put Shanti through seeing her brother like that would be torture. In her panic, it was increasingly difficult to find a sitter that could watch her within the week, and every moment that passed tore the mother to shreds. Even so, she faked a smile for Shanti and Echo, and Noél by extension. Echo’s father had been kind enough to express a desire to watch his daughter instead of Demeter doing so, but she’d shrugged it off under the pretense of him “being very busy” and the fact she needed a sitter regardless. They were able to compromise with Anyu, a nice lady, though seldom seen, who takes good care of Echo. Demeter felt a bit uneasy about it, but with very few immediately available options (and she certainly didn’t want to be away from her son longer than necessary), she’d given Echo a note for Anyu with the address of the Cozy Coatala asking for the green quad’s help.
Luckily enough, she appeared somewhat on time. Demeter can’t do much other than hope that Anyu is as good as Echo seems to think.

Wowza my hands hurt, I’ve been working on this quite literally all day, but I’m really proud of how it came out art wise at least. Poor Anyu doesn’t seem to have a lot of friends, so I wanted to take the opportunity of Demeter needing a sitter for Shanti while she was busy with Dr.F and Ludvig for some interaction between the two! It works out pretty well with them both watching Echo a lot of the time. Regardless, Anyu’s welcome to stick around if she so wishes
This can just as easily be a one off thing also! it makes for a funny skit, at least to me.
