Imagine Dragons - Nothing Left To Say
It's been ages since I drew Severus Snape. When I had heard the lyric of the song my first thought was that it reflects his hard time of the headmastership in Hogwarts perfectly (it was not my only inspiration, but for sure listening to it speed up my drawing remarkably
). I wanted to show Severus in a short moment of weakness, crestfallen, probably just after another hard and difficult heart-to-heart talk with McGonagall, when he had to pretend to be a loyal servant of the Dark Lord. One can only imagine what horrible toll it must have taken on him and how harder and harder it was getting to fulfill his commitment to the school during this year, trying to protect the students and the teacher from Carrows and... from himself.

Ahh, od razu po tytule poznałem Imagine Dragons, świetna jest ta piosenka, zwłaszcza jej tekst, w sumie po Myslovitz stali się moim ulubionym zespołem i chyba pierwszym zespołem, którego podobają mi się wszystkie piosenki z albumu. Ich najnowsze I bet my life on You znasz?

Thanks. Well, he must have been pretending most of his life, but during that year it must have been especially hard. The responsibility for Hogwarts fell on his shoulders.

I wonder if when he sent Ginny, Neville, and Luna to do detention with Hagrid...was he attempting to spare them from the Carrows?

Yes, it seems so. However, a part of my headcanon is that when Snape was still unsure what to do with the students and was considering various options it was McGonagall who come to him, asking to spare them. He would use this oportunity and would demand her full cooperation in return - no more objections and any form of resistance from the teachers. That would explain why that mild punishment for the trio didn't look suspicious in the eyes of Carrows (who would eventually learn about that deal).

W pierwszej chwili pomyślałem że to znowu Grima, a tu proszę - i to jeszcze historia za plecami. Swoją drogą masz rację, rola Snape'a w tym tomie była totalnie nie do pozazdroszczenia... przynajmniej dobrze, że Rowling niespecjalnie wchodziła w jej detale...
