Description Its pretty common for most HO Scale modelers to model an engine that still exists today. Milwaukee Road 261, Union Pacific 4014, Pennsylvania 1361. Today, I now have a model of one of those survivors. Yes, she's a real engine. You just probably dont know about her yet! The real SA&AP 260 was built by Baldwin in 1922 for the San Antonio & Aransas Pass Railroad as a Class E-40 4-4-0. She later was Southern Pacific (going through renumber from 60 to 260) up until its sale to the Comite Southern #2, later Louisiana Eastern #2, in 1954. In May of 1962 she was sold to the Stone Mountain Scenic Railroad and dressed up as the "Texas II." She remained at Stone Mountain in faux W&ARR markings until 2013 when she was sold again to the Three Rivers Rambler in Knoxville, TN where she is undergoing restoration.

This model is an IHC Premier M802 4-4-0. This is technically the same body tooling as the modern IHC Mogul but frankly I dont mind that its the same tooling on a different chassis, its still a very nice take on a modernized (or modern) build of a 1920s era 4-4-0.

As of this post, 260 will remain a static display. She still has her original hook-horn coupler and I plan to replace it with a Kadee No. 5 (or the No. 28, which Kadee recommends). In time, she will also lead a unique train that I will be assembling just for her.

UPDATE 1/7/23: As of this update, the engine has finally obtained a Kadee coupler on the back and is rolling on my tracks! She runs like a swiss watch and has probably the best slow-speed operation of all my engines so far (as of this update). She looks amazing hauling most of my 1920s themed freight cars but I think she'll shine best with one of my planned future passenger trains.
