Hi I'm from ProjectComment n_nΒ

This is such a stunning art piece! Tricky? I would have never been able to tell if you had not mentioned it. It took me a little while to realise this wasn't just a photo but rather a really well done realistic artwork o.o Clearly you're very skilled in doing realistic pieces such as this one as I can't say there's anything at all wrong with how she turned out.

The lighting in this piece is quite fantastic, particularly on her skin and hair. It gives an almost photoshop feel to the drawing as if it were taken by a camera and done up with filters and such ready for Instagram or even possibly for a magazine.I quite like the level of detail given to each individual strand of hair, the lighting on her lips and the folds on her shirt. These details really help to give a natural feel to this portrait which is probably why I mistook it for a photo for awhile.Β

There however is just a few ever so slight issues I have with this, though honestly I didn't notice any of these until I took quite a hard look at it. The lighting on her right arm seems a little off. It just seems too bright and almost wraps right around the arm itself despite the lighting seemingly coming from the top right. I'm unsure if this was intentional to be from some sort of flash from a camera if this is based on a real photo or not, so I'll leave it at that.Β

There seems to be a bit of a smudging and stray markings in the background. This is most noticeable in the top left corner where the corner seems to almost look as if some water had fallen on top of it and smudged out the lights. Again, I'm unsure if this intentional or not so I'll leave it at that. There's also a few stray marks just below the smudged lights and another on the right side of the artwork. These aren't really that noticeable until you look away from the focus of the portrait. There's also a lack of shading on the straw, though again really not noticeable until you look at it.Β

Anyway great piece you've done, you should be proud n_n Hope your portrait studies have helped with what you were hoping to achieve through them.Β

Thank you so much for the insight and for the kind words! Looking back at my reference and then checking your critique I can see that I definitely did make some mistakes in my rendering process '^^ I do appreciate you taking the time to go through all the details and write up an in depth analysis of the piece! I will definitely work harder on my next piece and pay more attention to the details, once again thank you! ^^

No problem at all! Glad to have been of some help, I can get sometimes not noticing things once finishing a piece. Honestly you're doing really well and they were just a few small mistakes in the overall picture of things n_n

Perhaps next step could be applying different textures? Thumbnail looks amazing, but on closer inspection, could have varied texture a bit to add visual stimuli

This is amazingly gorgeous -- I love everything about it, from how the lenses of her glasses have a little shift to the colors behind them, to how her hair really looks like it's got weight and length to it (sometimes people just make it look floaty and too chunky).

Just some beautiful work here.

Hello ThanArtos! SciFiConceptArt from Project Comment here!

I would like to comment on your painting. So let's get started.

First of all, the composition in your painting is very well done. It looks a bit photorealistic, too. The skin tones look very natural and the blurred background creates a wonderful depth. What you could do better is shade the drinking straw. There is no shadow. Everything looks almost photorealistic but this little detail does not fit. Another point are these "dirt particles". I think you wanted to create a window or glass… I cannot identify what it is. In contrast to these negative aspects I have to point out, that the hair looks pretty natural and the folds of the shirt are also well made. You also pointed out the different materials in your painting such as substance, skin, plastic, hair and so on very well.
To sum up, I mostly like this painting because it is very detailed and well worked out. There are a few mistakes here and there that you can correct next time, I think.

I hope I could help you. Have a nice day!

Haha I was waiting for my critique, thank you so much! I'll be honest I didn't even notice the straw wasn't rendered so thanks for pointing it out, I will definitely be more careful for the next piece regarding all the things you pointed out, thank you once again! ^^ Β

Absolutely intriguing! I agree with SiarruxX-Xux , too! It looks so real, that it doesn't look like a drawing, but more of a picture taken!
