Hey guys! Haven't updated in a while!! This is my newest pic, Constellation and the last in my star series.Got the idea when I was camping with my dad. People usually rely on the information they have to create larger opinions about their world. One of these is the stars which people have seen shapes in and there are even entire religions based off constellations. So, I decided to make a goddess-like girl in an abstractish setting.
I hope you like it! Worked hard and I'm exhausted!! I've decided this was the last of 2010 since it was an idea from that year. I have bigger things in store for 2011
And yes I'm aware I'm going to receive some heat for the risky pose. >.< Thanks Sus22222 for that hand website!!

Honestly this picture is one of my all time favorites of yours! The concept is beautiful and I feel like it was executed just perfectly. The contrast between the white constellations and the rest of the picture really make the whole thing pop, while the reds and yellows in the headdress draw your eyes to her face.
The hair and make-up and her expression give off a very high fashion feel. You really took a chance with the pose but I think it fits the picture really well. (There'd be no place for art in the age of cameras if it mimicked reality perfectly) That being said I feel like her neck is a bit awkward, maybe it's too straight?
The other thing I really like are the shadows on her face! They look great! She has a kind of other-worldly beauty and elegance the plays well against the fanciful accessories and bright colors of the rest of the picture.

Thank you so much! I'm so happy you like it so much, honestly it's one of my personal favorites as well. It was a lot of fun to work on and I thought it was a fun idea.
I'm glad you got a high fashion feel and you think the pose fits the picture! A lot of people didn't get the pose. XD Haha I just wanted her to match the geometry of the background, so I made her body into an interesting shape!

I love how the dress merges with the background! Also, the details are dazzling! Love the colours. When I saw the drawing, I went to the living room (there is a large mirror) and did the pose. It did hurt a bit doing it, haha. I guess it is possible to do it, though not perfectly the same as what you have drawn. However, in my opinion, I think it's perfectly fine to exaggerate poses a bit when it comes to art, as long as it's not so overdone that it looks disgusting
I'm beginning to think that you can take your drawings to a higher level in a sense that, you can show more things without having the canvas so 'crowded' with details. I'm not saying that you should get rid of the details, but having them more focused and leaving some negative space. It might be my personal preference, but I like leaving some negative space in a drawing for people's imagination. But anyways, I think you are already moving towards that direction in your recent drawing, INK, and I'm glad to see that!
By the way, I always enjoy reading your artist's comment to see how you come up with the concepts. When I draw, I don't really have a concrete idea. I guess that's why my drawings always seem like there's no content. I'm not sure how to describe it > < This is one of the major things I want to learn from you.

What a compliment!! I'm very happy you think so! Details will always be a part of me, but I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes it's nice to have a nice clean background. Negative space is very nice in drawings, especially if it's used well!! I'll remember that and I'm excited to advance further in my art. *.*

A lot of people just sit down and draw and end up drawing what they draw, like my friend =Mage-Kotarou . I just CAN'T do that. o.o I don't know why, it's just not a part of me! I think that the only strange thing in this drawing is that it almost looks like her head is on backwards ><
I think in the critique, the person was trying to get at it with the hands and such. It might just be that the arms might look better bent backwards, towards her back instead of in front (lol try the pose yourself?) Unless of course you intended it to be that way
But I love the colors and her hairpiece is gorgeous. Great work!

"lol try the pose yourself?" LOL IF YOU DON'T THINK I'VE TRIED THIS POSE THINK AGAIN. I spent two hours studying hands doing this pose, making my friends, mother, teacher do this pose so I could see how it looked and get a feel for it. I prolly should've gotten someone to do it naked though or without a shirt so I could see the back and neck detail!! XD Haha I would've gone to such extent to get it right!! XD Thanks very much for the crit though I'll think twice next time I try to pull off a pose like this

Wow this is so stunning to look at! All the colors blend so beautifully! Haha it's almost sad that the star series is over, but alas the day had to come I suppose. I love all the detail in the hair and her expression. The only thing is that I think the neck is a little too long. I actually did the pose ('cause I'm a dork) and at least I couldn't seem to do that with my arms without having my shoulder pretty much right at my chin. But other than that I really like the pose, it's really interesting and eye-catching.

Do you mean on the lineart of the girl??
If so, I used Copic multiliners and Micron pens sizes 3 mm or less. Usually I use 1 or 2 mm.
