i think Maxwell is a doppelganger demon that wanted to take over Williams life but instead took over his body and now they are both fighting for control.

Honestly, you gotta feel sorry for the guy. Klei did a wonderful job introducing William into the lore. It really makes you feel sorry for the guy, and what he had become.

Hehe, for me it was a deep hatred for the guy (in game he's sooo much of a douche. XD) But then Klei started to unravel his back story, and now I just feel sorry for him, and have a bit of new found respect. (Though he could at least hold back on the many lightning strike I get to the face in game. XD)

Oh believe me. Whenever I play freaky shit happens. XD For example, whenever Death (my boyfriend) and I play we always debate on what day the hounds come. For him it's always on day 7. For me day 10. We started to play DST where he hosted and the hounds came on day 7, BUT when I hosted they came on day 10, and he was "HOW?!!!"
That and I found a glitch where if you try to keep the shadow hands at bay, the creepy music stays at your camp, and I actually got it recorded.

my only creepy stuff was in a minecraft server xD
I prepared a server with a giant tree, built a base in it
where the TF2 mercenaries were living (using a npc mod)
you could hire them, buy things from them...
and then I left around, mesages, diaries, for people to read
I created a story around the tree of a cursed spy
and created a dialogue for red spy, telling that horrible creepy story
he was traumatized and still could hear the breath of the cursed spy
I added him to the tree, he was living on the top and was a boss to fight
but I creeped out the day I realized we could actually hear
the murderer's breath in red spy's room, barelly, but we could hear it.
his house had "Amnesia: dark descent"s music when you entred
which added to the creepiness
after I prepared all of it, I looked at the two town of vilagers at the bottom of the tree
and they had all died, but the place was protected and full of light
that was the first creepy thing to happen, because it was matching spy's story
which he said that the vilagers were savagely murdered
an other creepy thing that kept happening
was the blue scout suiciding, jumping out of the tree repeatedly
he was the only npc doing that and I still don't know why
I put fences and he found a way, jumping on the boxes, to suicide anyway =-=''
there are a bunch of many other things I could
keep saying but I'm just gonna stop, its getting big xD
I had a diary in my house where I wrote every creepy thing that happened while playing
