This short story belongs to the Insecticons Saga, but it's also a spin-off of Ratbat's story.
Continuity-wise, this story is set before The War Within (volume 1).
Ratbat's Ultracons were first seen in The War Within (volume 2): The Dark Ages.
Venom's Insecticons entered the fray of the Civil War after the events of Short Story: Secret Shame .
Ratbat loves exploiting Cybertron's natural resources, of course.
