This seems a nice first picture for an insect close up. For this kind of shot using a narrower aperture may give you a better field of depth and add sharpnes to the eye of the subject.

Yeah, I think so. I was trying to get him fair and square at different aperture settings, but I guess I'm not just good enough at controlling my hands, head and camera. But I'll do my best! Thank you for the valuable advice.

Well, it's not just about being stable. It's also about personal taste, ideas and other stuff. I'll work on balancing it.

i am using a 150mm Sigma for close up shots and it becomes heavier and heavier and impossible to hold stable after an hour or two
