Oh, wow... I made it to Twitter?! Gosh, these things travel fast... Well then I am working on another Cullen piece right now - an anatomy study. But right now I am trolling my friends for April 1st, so it looks like someone completely different Will update with the appropriate features at the end of Apr 1st Glad you like the portrait

I use him a lot for studies of everything-light, proportion, anatomy, expressions...pretty much anything and everything!  I will keep my eyes open for your anatomy study piece!

Yep, will post an update later today, hopefully And, yes, Cullen makes an excellent model for anatomy and portrait studies. You know, to improve drawing skills

That on 2 hours is slow? Whew... Anyway, you know what I'll say...

Yes, took me waaay too long for what I had in mind. What I wanted to challenge myself with is to capture a subject's features within only a few strokes... Obviously, I need more practice. But, as long as I keep practicing on Cullen, I don't mind making mistakes

Hehe then let's make more mistakes to continue drawing Cullen XD

Say, what brushes are you using to shade his face?

I used a single brush for the entire drawing. It's a default brush that comes with PS, 17 px (of course, I changed the size to my liking). It's not a charcoal brush, because it does not have the texture for it, but it has the shape of it (a little fuzzy on the sides, parallelogram). I used 83% opacity most of the time. Reduced it to 25% for some details, like the shading for his beard.

Ah ok
Wow that's interesting, I never know that many people don't use as much brushes as I imagined. I thought that everyone use like 100+ brushes for one painting.

Depends on the painting. This is a very simple piece, so no need to go overboard with the brushes. For complex drawings I generally use between 6-10 brushes at a time.
