I really like your line art as well as your colors. And it's a blast to see both versions.
I understood that your wife inks a lot of your work but does she also color much of your work? Can you describe the basic principles that you guys follow when drawing and coloring? It seems that you use gradient based coloring, at least in the backgrounds. Some people use, I think, vector shapes to control the coloring process but I think I am detecting genuine brushwork in the colored version of this image. Anyways, looks fantastic!

I color and Rachel inks.
I use whatever works for the coloring, mostly brushwork (regular pencil tool) and then gradients or working on a multipy to smooth things out.
