YES.
YES.
AND MORE YES.
And I'd like to add, that the kid playing as Aang, Noah Ringer, was SO adorable. * u*
I really loved how his airbending tattoos were intricate and more to the Tibetan culture.
And while I don't really on some things, like the skin colors/races, bending tactics, name pronunciations...and the like, I still really enjoyed the movie. I don't compare it to the series. I like to think of it a little as a kind of Alternate Universe. C8

Wow, I left ou the word "agree". How'd that happen? 8/
Lol. But yeah, while I do agree that every person is entitled to their own opinion, I can't help but feel some people need to be slapped for being so rude or close minded. Like the people saying Noah Ringer was a horrible Aang. He might not look 100% Asian, But he's got big brown eyes, he's a kid, he was a great actor (especially it being his first acting experience), and he had the wide, adorable smile from the series.
I could analyze every character, but I don't want to start anything crazy like a debate or flaming. I do wish at least that they would have made the scar more prominent on Dev for Zuko. Since he has darker skin, it's more difficult to see the redder/pinker tones. And without professional FX/FX makeup you can easily hide an eyebrow while making it seem like it's not there at all. And I would have rather of seen Zuko being mostly bald with his topknot-ponytail. It was my favorite version of him...and I will always mourn the loss of the crazy Fire Nation sideburns.
But I have to say...I loved Iroh's dreads/hair/beard. And AU-y enough, Zuko's new, perpetually wide eyed stare. I didn't think I would enjoy something so much, but oh my it makes him look so much more vulnerable that it made my heart soar. xD
And the amount of sadism creeping up in Zhao. UNF--
The bending all looked great to me (most people pick on the Earthbending scene, but they seem to forget that there was more to that scene than just the little rock throwing), except for the ice with the waterbending. That looked pretty fake to me at most/some parts. But other than that the movie was still fabulous to its own right. I could talk about this for a good while (mainly because there's hardly EVER anyone who accepts the movie enough to talk about it with me), but I need to stop my rambles.

YES. YES. YES.
Thank you so very very very very very very much for having this stamp.
Honestly, I JUST saw the movie last night (Not wanting to see it after EVERY friend of mine told me not to) and I actually LIKED it. I mean, of course there's flaws. There's always flaws. I'm not going to sit here and compare the movie with the series, though. I see them as completely different things and I don't see why I can't like both.
>0 In fact, I was actually YELLED at by a friend of mine who found the movie to be "repulsive" and then began naming all the flaws. One of which was the fact that Firebenders couldn't bend without a fire source. I actually found this interesting since they made Sozin's Comet a HELL of a lot more interesting. Instead of the Firebenders just getting "More Powerful" They get the ability that FEW have.

It sucked. And I'm not even a fan of the show.
Although it was pretty.

The movie to me was mediocre at best. But that was mostly because I never saw the show before the movie.
And it was what got me interested in the show.

I didn't like it. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either. Most of the actors didn't fit their roles and the Fire Nation troopes need more red. The plot wasn't very well written either. The thing i hated the most was..... WHERE IS THE SARCASM AND MEAT!!!!!!!!!!!?????!!!!!!!!!

Me too. Before today I thought it was just me and people who haven't watched the TV show that liked the movie.

I'm so using this stamp! I prefer the series better, but when I said aloud I didn't dislike the movie some fans almost got to my throat. Why on earth? I wasn't even saying it was good... I just said I enjoyed it. I don't understand why people can show some respect on others opinions...
Thanks!!!

i hated the movie,bu it was hard for a die-hard avatar fan like myself to hate it all. I was laughing at the movie on how this wasn't there- or how that was supposed to be,but I HAD A BLAST ON SEEING APPA!!!!!

I absolutely loved it! (So did my dad and cousin) I was too busy fangirling to notice the dodgy dialogue and I actually enjoyed the whole narration thing that everyone seemed to hate. The ten earthbenders throwing one rock thing was a bit stupid... but the rest of the action scenes were great.
Dev Patel IS Zuko (perfect angry jerk who needs a hug). Jackson was awesome. Iroh is... Iroh. Zhao was... a little disappointing. He was a great jerk just not a great evil villain. (He doesn't have a voice like Jason Issacs for one)
I was a little annoyed because the 3d projector in the cinema broke and we had to swap our brilliant tickets for 2d right up the front.
But the movie was made of win. Gonna see it again the 3d!

I loved it! ^^
In fact I only watched one season of the anime but the film encouraged me to watch it completely ^^ I was expecting it to be bad [just for the comments of the people] but I came out of the cinema acting like a fangirl telling my boyfriend the few things I know about the anime.
Thank you for this stamp ^^

I heard there were comics and maybe? books of the Avatar series. I never saw or read any of them myself.
Yeah, I agree, the kids playing the roles were great, looked dead-on (wondered about how the Uncle was so different lol) and the effects were amazing!
