I get confused with them but I keep at it. All my space ones are multiple layers but I still have issues with placement. Sometimes it takes hours to do one and it still isn't exactly how I want it.

Have you thought about rendering one the way you like it. Sometimes when the pitch is different for each layer (which it can't be --- the pitch has to be the same for both when using layers (all camera settings must be the same). Sometimes it is easier to render the sky and then use that rendered jpg or png as a background for the second fractal. Say render the sky and/or water as a separate render using the perspective and/or pitch as necessary. Then when you do the render that you don't want pitch on, when you get ready to render you use the png/jpg from the sky/water render as the background image and put your one layer fractal on top of it. Not sure I am making sense......like the gold balls and gold sky in one of my pictures. The sky is a background with the loonies on top of it....but all rendered in JWF.

Okay, that is what I have been doing wrong then! It seems to me that we should be able to adjust each layer independently of any other layer without affecting the other layers. So now I know what to do to fix it. The roll is usually what I mess with. I don't ever mess with the camera settings, as such. I just move the image to center it. I untick all the little buttons that adjust the axis, and then just move the entire image. Hmm. Confusing. I have used images for backgrounds so I know how that works. Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can figure it out. The only thing is with the space images, I could never be able to render each layer because of the placement of all the elements. I don't know if that makes sense to you.
Thanks again!

Yes, it makes sense. Anything under the Camera Tab will affect the entire fractal be it one layer or 10 layers. If it is the centering of a fractal from layer to layer, just remember you can always put a Linear 3D as a final on the layers, and then move them around using the post tf in the Affine tab. On that final Linear3d you can make the fractal smaller or larger with the value also. I generally always put a Linear 3d as a Final on every layer so I can maneuver them around easier and change the size of them.

I do that, on ever layer, but I still have issues with everything showing up in one place, instead of being where, let me note you.
