Description The Black marlin is one of the biggest spearfishs and ceranly one of the most beautiful. It grows up to 4 metres long and has a shorter sword than the swordifsh. Sadly, the black Marlin as well as other big spearfishes are threatened because they are overfished and people hunt and kill them for sport. My heart always bleeds when I see one of those beautiful creatures gettin killled, although I would like to go fishing one (but in a way like Jeremy Wade does - he hunts them not for killing them but to study them and he always puts the fishes back into their natural habitat.)
Note: The tail of my one is a litttle bit messed up I will try to overwork it

I think it's good, that you present beside your great pictures of extinct animals an image of an animal, which still lives on Earth.

Es ist schade und macht mich auch wütend, dass diese Art neben den anderen einer der begehrtesten Großfische ist!

Ich werd wohl auch die anderen mitglieder der speerfischartigen zeichnen, der blaue marlin ist schon in den startlöchern
Und ja, es ist echt schade das sie so stark bejagt werden.Es ist furchtbar zu sehen wenn die fischer die tiere im todeskampf an bord hieven und dann einfach ausbluten lassen

not bad. Black Marlin grow much bigger than 4 meters though. they regularly approach 16-18 feet and i have even heard recently of someone catching, tagging, and releasing one about 20 feet long, as big as the larger great white sharks.

really? I read it was just 4 metres long. Do you have pics of those even bigger marlins , I would love to see them . ISnt the blue marlin the biggest of the spearfish family?- as far as i know it can grow to 5 metres long. But it seems the black marlin is bigger now.

Blue and black marlins are about the same length overall, but i must admit the blue marlin is larger by sheer weight.
