Re-uploaded and tweaked from my old account.

Well, well. I've been doodling this on any scrap of paper I could find for a week now and thought I'd give it a go (even though I'm supposed to be doing other things).
It's come out much better than I had expected.

Painted from reference from the neck down 'cause I'm a tard: [link] by *Sinned-angel-stock . The left side decided to look like her eventually which annoyed me just a smidge, but luckily she's a very pretty girl.

I really like the idea you have here. The face ripping off of face concept is rad, and I love the small details you put into the texture of the rip, the hair, and I can see a good rising technique of skin texture as well.

The first thing I notice here with her skin texture is that you are trying to develop this 'perfect' skin look which is fine, but I feel that you lost a lot of the volume and intricacy you had going on in the hair and in the eyes. I think that the mix of super light textures and super centralized textures along with an almost choppy use of lighting makes for an unfinished look. I can see what you are trying to do with the blue low lights, but I feel like it flattens it a bit by being too light. The skin in general is very close to believable but i think that there are just some small things that you could be more precise with.

The second thing I notice is that the head is a great deal bigger than her body. I saw that your reference had a similar look going on, but we must also be aware of the camera angle in the reference and even there, her shoulder goes off the page. Speaking of angles, I also notice that the perfectly symmetrical hair is perfectly straight even though her head is angled slightly to the left.

And my last point is probably that I feel the background looks a little flat too. Maybe if you emphasized her by using a gentle halo effect, it would bring her out more?

Aside from those three points, I really like how the faces are going two different ways and again, the hair. I love the magical looking ebony hair. Very interesting thing you have going on here.

Good job! <3

This is truly amazing! I love the concept, and it's so well painted! Very beautiful work!
And there is nothing wrong in using references (if I understood well your words, because I'm not English ^^').
Amazing work!

Yeah, references're a Godsend to help that bit extra with realism but they're not to be relied upon too heavily.
