Anyone else notice how alike Byakuya and Ichigo are now?Bleach, Byakuya Kuchiki, and Master Jushiro Ukitake are the sole property of their creator Tite Kubo.

I think it was stated somewhere that Byakuya and Ichigo are very much alike. The only difference is that Byakuya has a lot more responsibilities and duties than Ichigo, so he has to remain calm and collected. Sure, he wants to be more like Ichigo is now, but why should he when Ichigo IS like how he wants to be?
