Description Colored with alcohol markers. The mottled effect was done by spraying the final peice with hairspray. The alcohol in the hairspray reacts with the alcohol in the markers to create a beautiful textured effect.

Very interesting. I'd like to know how you came upon the whole hairspray trick.

A friend of mine mentioned it to me when I started experimenting with Alcohol markers. You can also buy "blenders" basically an alcohol marker without the pigment to mix colors.
It ends up being just a lot of experimenting to see what you can do with the medium

She looks quite majestic. The effect with the dots looks interesting, and was really neat reading about it.

Interesting how the warm palette contrasts with her very cool expression.

I'm really more partial to blues and greens, so I wanted to try experimenting with my orange markers.

It takes some practice to get a nice spray. It's best to put it on the floor and spray about 3 feet above the piece to get an even sprinkle.
