Yowza, what a spicy look she has in this one! though, despite her daring choice in clothing she still has this rather... sweet look to her, and i must say the curls and freckles help alot.
God i love how you draw hands. Simply AMAZING

I've been enjoying watching you thus far. Your details and lines on these characters show a degree of love and attention to them.
Great series.

Yes, I kept meaning to fave that one because every time I saw your gallery I was like "Man that's a nice piece"... I don't know why I didn't get around to it before.
And thanks so much for the kind words about her. As you miiight have realized () I put a lot of myself--not necessarily personality-wise, but in terms of time and dedication--into my characters, and Rian's been one of my favorites lately (she's a hell of a lot of fun to RP, too, since she just DOES stuff that I usually didn't plan). The kinds of characters that I play (and usually, the kind I create) are almost always pretty normal, but I like to think with enough personality that they're interesting to draw at least. I think Alan gets tired of running games for my normal, normal characters, since he likes the weird ones.
Trean is probably the furthest away from "normal" I've ever played, and really, when it comes down to it, she's still a pretty standard elf--generally, I want a character to be interesting for WHO they are, not WHAT they are. I've known a lot of people who aren't content unless they're playing THE LAST OF SOME FORGOTTEN RACE, or that ubiquitous Drow-exile-to-the-surface-world, which have oddly become a dime a dozen for player characters in spite of repeated references to their rarity... I don't mind those types of characters sometimes (I mean, I freely admit that Farael there is a huge fantasy cliche in his OMGYOUNEEKNESS, and I did come up with him), but not to play myself, you know what I mean? I have a hard time connecting with them on a creator level, just because they're really hard to identify with, which is why I see a ton of people come up with characters like that and they come off as really two-dimensional, with very little defining personality beyond "Well, they're the last of this forgotten race!" I don't mean to say it can NEVER be done well--in fact, I see people do it well all the time--but enough people just don't bother, that I have a bit of a reflexive eye-roll reaction when people tell me about their Singular Strange Character with Laser Eye Beams and Vampire-Werewolf-Demon-ThreeKindsOfElvish-Angel-Animal Heritage.
The thing I love about digital color is that it's really relatively painless to experiment with a bunch of different approaches. I'm SO GLAD I have that tool at my disposal... man, a few years ago I swore I'd NEVER go digital, but it's just much more rewarding to me than traditional at this point. Can't beat that kind of speed, versatility, and cleanliness.

Hmm, you know I didn't really even think about the whole roleplaying aspect. That does make it a little more interesting because you do sort of have to find something to connect with the character you're playing. So I could understand why some people would want to go completely over the top with it in some ways because people want to get as far away from their normal, everyday selves as possible but it doesn't always make for the most interesting characters to outside viewers.
It's funny, I only just started digitally coloring about three years ago, but before then I'd never really played with color before. Occasionally I'd color some of my own work with colored pencils or the like but mostly I just did line art and heavy pencil shading. So coming into digital coloring was a pretty eye opening experience in terms of choices. I still feel a little overwhelmed at points but, man, nowadays my art just doesn't feel complete with out it.

Somehow, the pastel coloring really works with that outfit. Gives the picture a pulp-adventure feel...

Ooo. I really like the face, she looks really happy. The stomach area looks really tiny though, it seems kind of awkward. It reminds me of that woman who was on TV showing her tiny waist from wearing tighter and tighter corsets. But.. the more I look at it the more I think it might just be her pose.
