Description
My second sketch commission for of her characters King Arnou and Queen Gwyneth. Gwyn I really felt for while drawing this, because she gets a SERIOUSLY raw deal-- not only has her husband, whom she adores, been in love with his old flame for their entire marriage, she's had six miscarriages because she's being systematically poisoned by the king's advisor, and the king is under pressure to divorce her for her inability to produce children. And she just has to grin and bear this. Or weep a little.
Poor both of them, really. Neither one is getting an ideal situation out of this.

*Suupashi said it all, he does look kinda like "I'm really sorry for you, dear, but there's nothing I can do". And the whole scene looks so beautiful!
And I too felt really sorry for Gwyneth. ;__;

Lol, no, I understand, I spent like half my day explaining to =Lumaris how Trean and Zarael's relationship ended up screwing her up for centuries, and how her issues screwed up Farael... IT'S A BIG CYCLE OF SCREWED UP. 
Actually, possibly because of that, this was a really cool one to do. I have a serious soft spot for the babies that get a really raw deal, so it was a pleasure doing poor Gwyn. Even stately, dignified elf queens need love.

oh blegh. you captured that apologetic sort of air to this perfectly. he seems sorry, but not sorry enough you know? Her expression, the quiet, sort of twisting agony, just.. gawd.
I really like the way hes sort of leaning it, the curve of his body. Its just something that really stands out for me here.
